“U.N. Accuses Israel of Targeting Reproductive Health Facilities in Gaza

The report by the U.N. Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, called that and other actions that cause harm to women and girls “genocidal acts” and accused Israel of punishing Palestinians collectively for the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, attack that killed 1,200 people.”

Al Basma I.V.F. Center, Gaza’s largest fertility clinic, was struck by an Israeli shell during the war with Hamas.

Emily Tamkin strongly faults the Biden administration for representing itself as "the rights-respecting alternative to Trump’s authoritarianism" while Biden vacillated on human rights issues re: Palestinians and applied human rights principles inconsistently, again re: Palestinians. She finds this especially galling since she says that Biden must have known there was a good chance Trump would return to offrice.

The Hamas forces that carried out the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre penetrated a $1.1 billion, high-tech Israeli barrier on the Gaza border. Israel’s army and Shin Bet security force say they failed by relying on technology at the expense of human intelligence. #gaza #hamas #israel #palestinians

The "war" against #Gaza has been a single big war crime. It has left 200,000 people dead, among those 80,000 who died in direct combat and large numbers who starved to death or died from preventable diseases. The only other country in the #middleEast to have killed so many was #Iraq under #saddamHussein, but that was a country of 50 million, which leaves #Israel with a bad per-capita rate.

How are we providing them with weapons? How are they allowed to starve the #Palestinians to death?
