The US media is too cowardly to cover the [Hands off!] protests for fear of Trump.

I assume you mean on broadcast TV. I get my news on the web, not on TV. Here is what I found:

Fox News isn't covering. USA Today says there are thousands, not hundreds of thousands. Washington Post, NBC, and New York Times, are completely mute. However CBS and ABC have stories. PBS is full throated on the spot with live feeds. CNN has below the fold (10 stories+ down) coverage. Axios, AP, and Reuters are covering prominently. Local Los Angeles affiliate television websites are also following.

#Trump and #Musk and AI, oh my?

From my favorite historian pundit, Z:

… no serious economist is going to endorse [Trump's] approach to tariffs. No unserious one, either, probably. So, where did the White House come up with this formula? Well, if you put the phrase "balance bilateral trade deficits" into AI engines, the administration's approach (or some close approximation) is what you get. That is the case with ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, and Claude. If you put the phrase into Grok, you get the EXACT formula the White House used. In other news, Grok is the AI platform owned by... Elon Musk.

Guess you don't need the terminator to destroy the world. Simple AI is enough.

Scroll down to "Fuzzy Math" at this link, but the whole 4,000 word article will clear up the whole muddy mess.

Introducing the Tinker WriterDeck OS!

Convert any laptop and most chromebooks into a writer deck: A device designed solely for writing.

No distractions.
No internet.
No apps. No games. No social media.

Just writing.

The Tinker WriterDeck is very light weight and specifically seeks to lower the barrier of entry to creating writer decks. It converts older, reused, refurbished, or inexpensive laptops into a dedicated writing machine.

A digital typewriter.

The Tinker WriterDeck sits on top of a "headless" Debian Linux image and boots directly into a console based text editor.

We're using the Tilde Text Editor because it is a simple text editor, has an intuitive User Interface, and allows for customized color schemes for light and dark modes.

Operating System download and instructions on how to convert your laptop into a dedicated writer deck for free are found here: tinker.sh

See below for an example of the writer deck in light mode and dark mode.

If anyone has any questions or needs any help setting your laptop up, let me know here!

@Rozzychan
Legal isn't the issue. "Is it constitutional?" is the question. Trump is making laws. That's a legislative function, Congress' prerogative. Trump is supposed to enforce only those laws, but if he refuses to do so, what's left?

The federal justice system is constitutionally under the executive branch and uses his delegated power, but he IS NOT faithfully upholding the laws. The justice system is made of tens of thousands of people who individually want to keep their jobs, to feed their families, to pay their mortgages. It's a powerful lever. These people have a constitutional right to refuse, one might say a duty, and they know they will be fired.

They won't refuse, because they are just people. Like you. Like me. Trying to survive.

This happened in Germany in the 1930s.There were plenty of jews who thought themself as German first. That worked out well.

That's the dimension of what's happening. Nothing can be more un-American than this.

>> A reader I have at say smashwords would be routed to the same page as a reader on beam. There would be a UBL great, especially if you use a distributor. But as said in my first post: all UBL platforms are shit.

I wrote a script that takes the round and crestes different versions of it with Links to the store which sre not supported by UBl platforms and the ~200 EUR software.

Really all universal booklink platforms are a pain in the ass. Either they cost a shitton of money, do only support a specific subset of online stores, are totally US centric or build links to stores in an old URL scheme the store does not support any more. *sigh*
I know how this should be to be a good store in just do not have time or skills to do it *sigh*

Fellow #authors, which UBL platform do you use?
