During the EoY break I had a chance to cut my first real project on the lathe. A negative value extension ring (ie. I shortened a lens adapter).

It was more fun than I expected.

Making physical things is a lot of fun, even if you have to spend 2h just tapping the piece into place to get an ok alignment. It's by no means perfect (especially at wide open apertures) but it's good enough for my experimentation.
